Rennes vs PSG Match Preview
Rennes have made it to the Coupe de France Final with a thriller 2-3 win at Lyon but the clash hardly comes at the best time possible, as they meet Paris Saint-Germain looking to end a four-match winless streak in the league – where they shared the spoils with Angers (3-3) and Nice (0-0) but fell victims to Nimes (3-1) and Dijon (3-2).
Red and Blacks have, interestingly, been scoring more goals on the road and will now hope to keep it up at Stade de France, with a tally of nine in last four trips to build on. However, Julien Stephan simply struggled to keep it together at the back and find a cure for their defensive woes.
PSG should be able to capitalize on such troubles on the rivals end, coming into the match on the back of a convincing 3-1 win over Monaco last week where Kylian Mbappe scored a hat-trick in the first 55 minutes and Aleksandr Golovin’s late goal proved nothing more than a consolation.
Parisians have thus celebrated the title with the home crowd and they’ll now hope to make it double, having put the three-match winless streak seen beforehand behind them. Thomas Tuchel will have Neymar, Cavani, and even Julian Draxler back in the line-up, which adds to the popular opinion of them being massive favourites here.
We will back PSG to secure the silverware with a win on Saturday but we don’t feel they’ll do so without conceding, as we now combine it with a Yes on Both teams to score at an enticing 6/4 with William Hill.
Indeed, they’ve struggled to keep clean sheets and Rennes are very organized in the final third, which promises an exciting contest. However, we hope not to see too many goals with the high stakes involved and this also has us going for Under 3.5 Goals FT at 10/11 with bet365.
