Rennes vs Marseille Match Preview
Marseille have picked it up and connected a three-match winning streak as they beat Bordeaux (1-0), Dijon (1-2), Amiens (2-0) since early February and now travel to Roazhon Park promising a great challenge on Sunday afternoon.
Les Phoceens have thus looked better at the back and finally started capitalizing on the goals scored, sitting 4th in a thriller chase to secure a ticket to Europa League next term. They’ve struggled for such consistency on the road more, though, and this could be more worrying for Rudi Garcia.
Rennes have worries of their own with a busy schedule where they’ve been denied an Europa League win over Betis (3-3) with a last-minute equalizer and struggled to bounce back to the winning ways – with a 2-0 loss at Reims and a mid-week trip to Spain in store ahead of the Sunday’s clash.
Red and Blacks have been in great shape at Roazhon Park, though, and we have seen them bag eight wins in ten outings across competitions – where just Montpellier (0-0) also snatched a point along the way. They will now want to show off once again and we feel the visitors will have their hands full in search of points.
We will thus back Rennes to shut them down and secure all three points, where a Home win comes at 19/10 with William Hill and looks great value at this point. They’ve been furious and will want to base their success on such displays here late in the campaign.
However, we’ve seen Marseille regularly scoring and conceding goals and with that in mind, we’ll now also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 7/10 with bet365. We’ve seen such occasions in two of Rennes’ last three home outings as well as three of Marseille’s respective last four trips – which sets up a case for such a bet as well.
