Red Star Belgrade vs Tottenham Match Preview
Tottenham travel to Belgrade for their Champions League clash on Wednesday hoping to build on a convincing 5-0 home win over the rivals two weeks ago despite struggling to impress otherwise and seeing a very unpredictable spell of form across competitions – with two draws and three losses also on the records in the last six outings.
Spurs have been conceding goals on the regular and they haven’t really been able to outgun the rivals, which came especially obvious on the road – having seen a 2-1 loss at Liverpool and a 1-1 draw at Everton in their last two outings. The crisis is obvious and Andre Gomes’ horror injury after Son’s tackle over the weekend could see the dressing room suffer even more.
Red Star Belgrade will surely want to capitalize on such woes on the rivals’ end and put on more of a challenge in front of the home fans – something we’ve been used to from Vladan Milojevic’s men. They beat Olympiakos (3-1) in their only home outing in Group B so far and we now hope for another tough challenge.
Red and Whites have also bounced quickly since the loss in London and we’ve seen them pick it up with domestic success, where they beat Radnik Surdulica (0-5), Backa Topola (3-1), and Proleter Novi Sad (0-2) with a great streak in the final third led and goals coming from all directions.
While the difference in depth of quality was very obvious in the sides’ first clash, we feel Red Star will now be able to show more. We’ll stick with them to hold off the shaken visitors and we’ll now back an enticing Double Chance – Home win or Draw at 5/4 with William Hill.
We feel we will see goals on both ends, though, and we’ll go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 8/13 with bet365. With Tottenham regularly scoring and conceding goals along the way, we feel this comes off as more of a banker bet at this point.
