Real Madrid vs Girona Match Preview
Real Madrid host Girona for their Matchday 24 La Liga clash on Sunday, looking to build on their eight-match unbeaten streak across competitions and bag important home points in an attempt to catch up with pace-setters Barcelona – who now sit six points in the clear after 23 games played.
Los Blancos have beaten Ajax (1-2) in Champions League on Wednesday where a very late winner from Marco Asensio secured an advantage at Johan Cruijff Arena. They’ve thus built on a great 1-3 win at city rivals Atletico Madrid and kept up their fine goalscoring spell of form.
Girona have, on the other hand, struggled to turn clashes their way and haven’t seen a win since early December (2-1 over Alaves), with eight losses and just five draws earned along the way – sitting just outside the relegation zone after 23 league outings.
Gironistes have been scoring goals but still suffered losses to Betis (3-2), Barcelona (0-2), Eibar (3-0), Huesca (0-2), as well as Real Madrid (7-3 on aggregate) twice in Copa del Rey. They will now want to finally end the unwanted streak but bouncing back at Santiago Bernabeu will be an even tougher task.
We will thus back Real Madrid to secure all three points but we’ll go for an exciting contest once again, as we go for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score at 17/10 with Coral. We have seen them struggle to keep clean sheets and this feels like a solid approach at this point.
With that in mind, we’ll go for a high-scoring contest and we’ll also back Over 3.5 Goals FT at 11/10 with BetVictor. We have seen Real scoring numbers of goals and we do feel they have what it takes to put on another convincing display on the day.
