Real Betis vs Villarreal Match Preview
Villarreal have been picking up over the past month and we can’t help but feel they’ve been underestimated by Barcelona, as only last-minute goals from Leo Messi and Luis Suarez saved a point for the pace-setters in a 4-4 thriller at Estadio de la Ceramica. They now travel to Seville for their Matchday 31 clash at Betis looking to build on the positives, desperate for points to escape the danger zone.
Indeed, Yellow Submarine sit just a point clear of 18th placed Celta Vigo and have seen four wins in a row ahead of the disappointing trip to Celticos, where they also took a two-goal lead but ended up with nothing as the rivals completed a second-half comeback (3-2). They will need more at Betis but we still expect an exciting contest at Benito Villamarin.
Real Betis have struggled for points and pick-me-ups lately and the thriller 2-1 loss to Sociedad was nothing strange, as it was their fourth loss in last six outings. They’ve snatched a 0-1 win at Celta Vigo along the way and held Rayo Vallecano to a 1-1 draw, which will have them hopeful against Villarreal as well.
However, their struggles to retain any consistency at the back will be more worrying for Beticos, as they saw losses to Rennes (1-3), Getafe (1-2), and Barcelona (1-4) despite finding the net on all of the occasions in front of the home fans since mid-February.
We thus hope to see disappointed but encouraged Villarreal able to snatch an important point at Benito Villamarin, as we now stick with an enticing Double Chance – Draw or Away win at 7/10 with bet365.
With both sides coming off high-scoring clashes midway through the week, we also hope to see goals on both ends as we go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 13/20 with Paddy Power. We’ve seen the sides both score and concede in four of their respective last five outings, as this shapes to be a banker bet at this point.
