Real Betis vs Sevilla Match Preview
Real Betis host city rivals Sevilla for their Matchday 13 clash on Sunday evening, looking to build on their last week’s displays, where they beat Celta Vigo (2-1) in front of the home fans and held Real Madrid to a goalless draw at Santiago Bernabeu. They still have a long way to escape the danger zone and we expect them very motivated for points.
Beticos have been very tough to beat at this ground but it’s far from being said they can boast any consistency despite a somewhat more lenient schedule here. They beat Leganes (2-1), Levante (3-1) and held off both Getafe (1-1) and Eibar (1-1) in four outings beforehand, where goals conceded could mean a worry for Rubi.
Sevilla have seen a busier schedule and now come into the match on the back of a 2-5 Europa League win at Dudelange, extending a six-match unbeaten streak. Still, the win in Luxembourg came as their first in four games and this could be more worrying as Lopetegui struggles to find a cure for their defensive shortcomings.
Sevillistas have conceded ten goals on four trips since late September, suffering losses to Eibar (3-2) and Barcelona (4-0) before holding off Valencia (1-1) late in October. They will now hope to have put it behind them but slip-ups on Thursday suggest otherwise, which could mean trouble at Benito Villamarin Stadium as well.
We will now stick our necks out for an exciting draw on Sunday evening and we’ll go for it at 5/2 with BetVictor, which seems like a solid approach to the fixture rather than a longshot at this point. We’ve seen both sides scoring and conceding on the regular, which proves a point too.
With that in mind, we hope to see goals on both ends once again and we’ll now back a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 4/6 with William Hill. We’ve seen such occasions in four of the sides’ last five head-to-head clashes and we now only hope for more of the same.
