Going into the weekend’s games, Real Madrid have a one point lead over their title rivals Barcelona, thanks to beating them in their last game. That may not be the case by the time we kick off on Sunday night for this game as Barcelona play first, but Real Madrid know that a win here will see them remain at the top, regardless of what Barcelona do.
They have a great chance to do that as well, travelling to Real Betis who come here on the back of six league games without a win. They’ve drawn three and lost three of those, so it hasn’t all been bad but Betis are certainly not at their best right now, and need to improve.
The home side come into this weekend eight points above the relegation zone, so there is no need to panic just yet on that front. However, the longer they go without a win, the more chance there is of them being dragged down into the drop zone, something they won’t want to be a part of.
Facing the league leaders isn’t the ideal place to try and mount a revival though, this is going to be tough for Betis and we fancy Real Madrid to come out on top. Our main bet on this game is for Madrid to take home the three points. For our second bet, we are going to back under 2.5 goals. While we expect Madrid to win this, Betis will try and frustrate the visitors and keep it tight, which could work to a certain degree.
