Real Betis vs Barcelona Match Preview
Barcelona travel to Seville for their Matchday 23 clash on Sunday evening, just days after seeing a disappointing Copa del Rey exit in the hands of Athletic Bilbao (1-0) seeing their inconsistency on the road continue despite controlling big chunks of the game at San Mames Barria.
Blaugrana thus failed to build on wins over Leganes (5-0) and Levante (2-1) seen last week but more worryingly, Quique Setien hasn’t been able to find a cure for their woes away from home – where they bagged just one win in six games since mid-December. Luis Suarez has been missed up front and Messi will have to deliver if they’re to challenge Real Madrid at the top once again.
Real Betis have seen troubles of their own lately as they saw a disappointing Cup exit in the hands of Rayo Vallecano (on penalties after a 2-2 draw) and failed to bounce quickly, dropping all three points in a narrow loss at Getafe (1-0) and holding Eibar to a 1-1 draw over the past two weeks.
Beticos have been a tougher side to beat at home ground, though, and they’ll hope to show it off once again. They beat Valencia (2-1), Bilbao (3-2), and Real Sociedad (3-0) since late November and only saw Atletico Madrid (1-2) interrupt the streak here back in December.
Still, we feel it will be hard to shut down Barcelona and the visitors will be very motivated to show they’re indeed on the right path with Quique Setien, as we now back them to snatch all three points at 17/20 with bet365.
We should be in for excitement and we feel Blaugrana will have to outgun rivals if they’re to snatch the points. With that in mind, we’re also going for a high-scoring occasion and backing Over 2.5 Goals FT, which comes off as a banker bet at 4/7 with William Hill.
