Reading picked up a vital three points last weekend with a 2-1 road success at Ipswich to keep them out of the bottom three. They are fourth bottom level on points with Rotherham but have Wigan and Millwall in their sights now.
At the Madejski, the Royals are unbeaten in their last four with victories over Forest and Blackburn and draws with Rotherham and Villa. The last four fixtures at this ground have produced a combined total of just seven goals with three going under 2.5 goals.
Wigan saw their five-game unbeaten run (four of which were draws) come to an end in midweek with a 2-1 loss at Derby. It means they find themselves 19th and just three points above the drop zone.
Away from the DW Stadium, the Latics have not won a league game since the 22nd of August losing all but three of these. The Lancashire side have netted at least once in each of their last three and four of their last five on the road.
Reading look the bet here given they have had a week to prepare for this fixture while Wigan were in action on Tuesday. The Latics are woeful on the road while the Royals have a couple of good wins recently. The draw is a risk but at these prices I am prepared to take the risk on the home side.
