Reading vs Stoke Match Preview
Reading made it back-to-back league victories last weekend as they went to St Andrew’s and defeated Birmingham 3-1. The Berkshire outfit are now eight points and nine places from the bottom three and should be safe for another season.
At the Madejski Stadium, the Royals have won just one of their last six Championship matches though that did come last time out here when they beat Barnsley 2-0. Just two of the last seven here have gone over 2.5 goals while just one of 13 has gone over 3.5 goals.
Stoke stretched their unbeaten run to four with a comprehensive 5-1 defeat of Hull last weekend with braces each for Sam Clucas and Nick Powell. The Staffordshire outfit have been solid at the back of late conceding just two goals in these last four.
Away from the Bet365 Stadium, the Potters are without a victory in their last four though each of their last two have finished all-square. In none of their last five road matches have they managed a goal after the half-time interval.
Bookmakers make Stoke the slight favourites for the game and this seems a little harsh on the home side who are higher in the table and have won their last two. At the odds backing Reading in the draw no bet looks a sensible bet.
Another bet worth taking is the Royals to win the second-half as the visitors have failed to net in each of their last five on the road while this bet would have paid in three of the last five for the hosts.
