Reading vs Cardiff Match Preview
Reading host Cardiff at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday afternoon and they will be desperate to pick something up from the game. This has not been a good start to the season by the hosts, with two defeats from two games so far. Cardiff have adapted well to life back in the Championship and improved from their opening day defeat to beat Luton last weekend.
Reading have been beaten by both Sheffield Wednesday and Hull, which will be a slight concern for them. Although those two teams have started fairly well, they are not two of the best team in the league, and even though we are early in the season, this could be a tough campaign for Reading.
Cardiff have not done too much in an attempt to get back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, although the players they have kept in their squad do give them a chance. They don’t look like the kind of team that can be considered promotion favourites, but certainly come into the playoff talk. They played well but were beaten on the opening day, and made that right with a win over Luton last weekend.
We like what Cardiff have shown so far, although they haven’t been at their very best the signs are there that there is more to come from them. They look to be playing Reading at a perfect time with The Royals struggling, and we think Cardiff can take this one to make it two wins in a row. While Reading have lost their first two games they have scored and on top of that, Cardiff have seen eight goals in their two games so far, so we are also going to back over 2.5 goals here, in a game that should be entertaining for the neutral.
