RB Leipzig vs Benfica Match Preview
RB Leipzig top the Group G table with nine points to their name after four outings and they host Benfica hoping to build on the tally on Wednesday evening, where a win could secure the spot in the knockout stages early. They’ve been in fine form lately and surely get ground to build on, with goals coming from all directions.
Die Bullen have bagged a high total of 24 goals as they beat Wolfsburg (1-6 in DFB Pokal), Mainz (8-0), Zenit (0-2), Hertha (2-4), and Koln (4-1) most recently. Timo Werner led the attacking line and netted three in his last two appearances but it’s fair to say Emil Forsberg, Konrad Laimer, and Marcel Sabitzer all had their say as well.
Benfica have struggled for such an impact in Group G but they’ve still been in fine form domestically, beating Santa Clara (1-2) and Vizela (1-2) ahead of the International break and after it, respectively. They’ve been scoring and conceding goals along the way, though, which could be more worrying ahead of the trip to Germany.
Aguias have been tough to beat on the road but still saw quite a comfortable loss at Lyon (3-1) in early November, which has few believing in an upset now. They will be desperate for points, though, and we do expect an attacking approach from them despite a deadly counter-attack on the other end.
We still see RB Leipzig capitalizing and bagging the points here, as we go for a Home win as more of a banker bet at 1/2 with BetVictor. We should be in for thrills but their fine form up front suggests Julian Nagelsmann’s men are up to the task.
With that in mind, we do hope for goals between the sides once again and we’re backing Over 2.5 Goals FT at 8/13 with William Hill too. We’ve seen both sides enjoying such clashes lately and this has seen many big hitters lumping already.
