Rangers host Livingston for their Matchday 5 clash as they return from the International break, looking to bounce back to the winning ways after seeing their lengthy unbeaten streak ended by fierce rivals Celtic (0-2) at this ground. They now want more in an attempt to pick it up ahead of the Europa League clash against Feyenoord and to keep track of Celtic at the top of the table early on.
Gers have been rather confident in front of the home fans and the loss also ended a streak of five consecutive wins at Ibrox, which will be just as disappointing. Still, Steven Gerrard will hope they have what it takes to recuperate and head back into it, with a lot to play and a long campaign ahead.
Livingston have, on the other hand, connected a three-match winning streak and travel to Ibrox in great spirits after beating Forfar Athletic (1-2), Ross County (1-4), and St Mirren (2-1) since mid-August. They’ve conceded on all of the occasions too but feel very confident up front, which promises a lot on the day too.
Livi netted ten goals in their last four outings and while this Gary Holt’s setup proved shaky at the back, we don’t really feel he’ll change it greatly for the trip to Glasgow. They have struggled against the rivals lately but have a history of snatching points, which could see them looking for another upset now.
We will thus stick our necks out for Rangers to secure the important points but not without a run for their money, as we go for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score – which comes at 21/10 with Coral and feels like a lively longshot at this point.
We thus expect goals and we’ll go for them with Over 2.5 Goals FT at 6/10 with William Hill. We haven’t really seen Rangers enjoying many such clashes lately but we feel the visitors will force them into it, making this feel like a banker bet here.
