Rangers vs Kilmarnock Match Preview
Rangers host Kilmarnock for the replay of their FA Cup clash after seeing a goalless draw at Rugby Park end a four-match winning streak across competitions, coming into the match just days after their Premiership clash against St. Johnstone in hope they can build on a great streak in front of the home fans.
Gers have beaten Celtic (1-0) and St Mirren (4-0) in two league outings here since late December, which should have them motivated to keep it up with Cup success too. Steven Gerrard’s men have had troubles against the rivals this term and have a lot to prove on Wednesday evening.
Kilmarnock have held Aberdeen (0-0) and Dundee (2-2) to draws and only suffered a 1-2 loss to Hearts in front of the home crowd along the way, as Steve Clarke set up a tough defensive line to break. They will now be searching for an upset at Ibrox too but could have a hard time making it happen.
Still, Killie have been scoring goals on the road and found the net in four of their last five trips, which promises another tough challenge on the day. They sit just points behind the rivals on Premiership table and getting such a confidence booster here could prove crucial for their ambitions as well.
However, we don’t see them leaving unbeaten and we’ll now rather back Rangers to keep up their rock-solid streak in front of the home fans, sticking with them to make it to the Quarter-finals with a Home win.
We do expect a strong challenge and more of a thrilling contest this time around, as we also back a Yes on Both teams to score. We have seen both scoring and conceding more, which does prove to such a point too and has many already suggesting the same.
