QPR vs Nottingham Forest Match Preview
QPR suffered a miserable Easter as they went down 2-1 at home to Blackburn on Friday and followed that with a 2-0 loss at Derby on Monday. They have slide down to 19th in the table and with just one win in their last ten will be grateful for such a strong start to the season. They need to get the managerial appointment right if they don’t want another season of struggle.
At Loftus Road, the Rs have lost three of their last four and won just two of their last ten in the Championship. Each of their last four here have gone over 2.5 goals with three of them seeing both teams net. The last three matches at this ground have produced a total of five goals that have come before the break.
Nottingham Forest had a mixed Easter going down to a lifeless 2-0 loss at Sheffield United on Friday before impressing on Monday with a 3-0 defeat over Middlesbrough. They sit 11th and Martin O’Neill will want his players to keep their momentum going for next season. It has not been a great start to his regime but a couple of wins to end the season will ease the pressure off him if he starts slow next season.
Away from the City Ground, the Tricky Trees are winless in their last 13 though six of these have finished all-square. A lack of road goals has been a big issue for them recently having netted just four from their last ten. Each of their last four and five of their last six on their travels have been level going into the break.
Bookmakers are having trouble splitting the pair with Forest only narrow outsiders for this fixture. If they were at home we could be tempted to get with them but no win in their last 13 on the road means it is better to look elsewhere for the value.
Both teams have scored over 60% goals in the second-half so backing most goals to come after the break makes sense. 11 of the 22 the East Midlands side have played on the road this season have been level at half-time so this also looks a sensible bet.
