PSG vs Monaco Match Preview
PSG have been furious as they beat Linas-Montlhery (0-6) and St Etienne (6-1) over the past seven days and they host Monaco for their Matchday 20 clash in a great mood, hoping to build on such performances and the gap at the top of the table – now sitting seven points clear of 2nd placed Marseille with a game in hand.
Parisians have been led by in-form Mauro Icardi and Kylian Mbappe up front, connecting an eight-match winning streak since early December. They bagged a high total of 34 goals along the way and Thomas Tuchel has a lot to build on, which has his men as heavy betting favourites to bag their 10th win over Monaco in a row.
Monaco finished the year on a high as they beat Lille (5-1) and we’ve seen them build on the success last week, making their way to Coupe de France 16th Finals over Reims (2-1) with a last-gasp winner from Keita Balde. They have struggled for such consistency on the road, though, and this will be more worrying.
Monegasques earned just one win in last four trips and were held off by Angers (0-0) last time out, struggling to catch up with the top 2 as a consequence. They do sit five points behind 3rd placed Rennes and closing the gap will be crucial, despite two tough tests against the dominants now ahead of them.
We do feel the visitors will come into the match with no burden but still looking for an upset, which promises an exciting clash on Sunday. With that in mind, we’re still backing PSG to win and a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 21/20 with BetVictor.
We have been used to high-scoring clashes on PSG’s end and we see this going no other way either. We’ll thus also go for another such occasion and Over 3.5 Goals FT, which has been rated a banker bet by many in the know and can be backed at 4/6 with William Hill.
