PSG vs Amiens Match Preview
PSG host Amiens for their Matchday 19 clash on Saturday, just days after their mid-week trip to Le Mans in League Cup, where they look to build on a four-match winning streak across competitions. Thomas Tuchel has a lot to be happy about as his men look as confident as ever, with a seven-point gap behind them and a game in hand to 2nd placed Marseille.
Parisians beat Nantes (2-0), Montpellier (1-3), and St Etienne (0-4) quite comfortably and bagged the top spot in Champions League Group A with five points of breathing space, as they outclassed Galatasaray in a 5-0 home win along the way. They’ll now want to leave on a break in such spirits and we expect them very motivated at Parc des Princes.
Amiens have, on the other hand, only ended a streak of four losses with a 1-1 draw against similarly struggling Dijon last week and host in-form Rennes midway through the week. They struggled for goalscoring consistency and this could be even more worrying with 18th placed Metz just a point behind them.
Unicorns failed to find the net in two of their last four outings and conceded a high total of 12 goals along the way, seeing Strasbourg (0-4), Montpellier (4-2), and Monaco (3-0) all bag the points. They’ll now be motivated to cope with the French dominants but doing so will be no easy task for Luka Elsner and his men.
We thus feel we’re in for another comfortable win for the Parisians and we’ll back PSG to win to Nil at 7/10 with BetVictor, which looks like a generous banker bet at this point. We’ve seen them very solid at the back and dangerous moving forward, which has us hoping for more of the same.
With that in mind, we’re hoping to see PSG convincing in the final third too and we’re backing them to score Over 3.5 Goals FT at 4/5 with bet365. We’ve seen nine goals in their two outings last week and this does feel like a good approach to the fixture as well.
