Preston vs Sheffield Wednesday Match Preview
Preston had a mixed Easter which started well with a 4-0 defeat of Ipswich before suffering a 2-0 road loss at local rivals Wigan. North-End now sit in 12th position and their slim chances of making the play-offs have now mathematically gone. Alex Neil will be hoping his side can find form after a run of five defeats in their last six.
At Deepdale, the Lilywhites have won just one of their last three at their own place which came last time out against Ipswich. Just two of their last nine at home in the league have gone over 2.5 goals. Callum Robinson and Lukas Nmecha both grabbed a brace in their last appearance here.
Sheffield Wednesday had a decent Easter as they drew 2-2 on the road to leaders Norwich before a 2-0 home victory over Bristol City. Wednesday now sit ninth and while it is highly unlikely they make the play-offs the gap is still four points and mathematically possible. It also continues their great second part of the season that has seen them lose just two of the last 17.
Away from Hillsborough, the Owls are without a victory in their last three though they have lost just one of the last eight. Steven Fletcher netted on his last road appearance to make it two from his last four away matches. Their last three on their travels have been level going into the break.
These two sides are ending the season at different paces and with the visitors still having an outside hope of the top six we think they look the selection here in the draw no bet market. Preston have lost five of their last six and a heavy victory over Ipswich puts some gloss on a poor finish to the season.
The Owls will come into the fixture look to win this one so you could see goals in this one as North-End are leaking at the moment as well. Both teams to score is an option as is over 2.5 goals while combining them in a double also is appealing.
