Preston saw their 12 game unbeaten run come to an end last weekend as they went down to a 2-1 defeat at Reading. The result leaves them in tenth place and three points behind Villa who are sixth. They are about to embark on a tough run with each of their next three against teams in the top four.

At Deepdale, the Lilywhites are unbeaten in the last seven though they have won just two of these with five finishing all-square. Just one of their last six here has gone over 2.5 goals with three going under 1.5. Sean Maguire has two in his last four appearances in front of his own fans.

Sheffield United are also looking to bounce back after seeing a winning run come to an end which in their case was ten matches before losing 3-2 at home to Bristol City. The defeat saw them fall out of the top two and they are two behind Leeds in third and seven behind leaders Norwich. Just three of their seven remaining fixtures are against teams in the top-half and none against sides in the current top eight.

Away from Bramall Lane, the Blades are unbeaten in the last five with two victories (at Leeds and West Brom) and three draws. The Yorkshire outfit are defending well on the road keeping three straight clean sheets. They have managed to net at least once in nine of their last 11 on the road.

A draw is unlikely to do either side any favour with United needing the points to chase down Leeds and North-End needing them to close down the gap to the top six. A share of the points might have to be what these two strong sides have to settle for.

Both these sides are tough to breakdown but have options going forward and the need for goals makes me think that not only will this end in a draw but both teams will score so back the double.
