Preston vs Norwich Match Preview
Norwich travel to Preston for their Saturday clash with two consecutive draws behind them, where they conceded late equalizers and were denied important points by Tottenham (2-2) and Crystal Palace (1-1). They now have an eight-match winless streak on their hands and have to look for a pick-me-up in FA Cup.
Canaries have shown off as a tough side to beat, though, and Daniel Farke will want his men to build on such performances despite the heartbreaks. They did beat Everton (0-2) and held off Leicester (1-1) on the road since late November while seeing very narrow losses to Southampton (2-1) and Aston Villa (1-0), which goes to show their rather unpredictable form as well.
Preston will now hope to capitalize and make their way to the 4th Round for the second time in three years. They have seen trouble of their own, though, and suffered comfortable losses to Reading (0-2) and Middlesbrough (0-2) here over the past seven days – which will be much more worrying.
Lilywhites thus failed to find the net in three of their last four outings and Alex Neil will have to find a fix quickly if they’re to shock the Premier League strugglers. They still have a lengthy winless streak and not getting one here could take it to almost a month, which has many rating the home side lacking confidence and cohesion.
We will now back Norwich to shock Deepdale and snatch a ticket to the 4th Round here already, where an Away win comes at 11/5 with bet365 and looks like more than just a lively longshot at this point.
We do feel we’re in for a very narrow contest and Canaries will have to base such a success on a tough defensive setup before anything else. With that in mind, we’re going for few goals on Saturday afternoon and we’re backing Under 2.5 Goals FT at 23/20 with BetVictor.
