Preston vs Luton Match Preview
Preston got back to winning ways in midweek with a 2-1 home success over play-off rivals Fulham courtesey of a goal each from Sean Maguire and David Nugent. It put to an end a four-game losing sequence that had also seen North-End fail to net.
At Deepdale, the Lilywhites have won three of their last four and their only two defeats came here against West Brom and Man City (in the League Cup). Six of the last Championship games here have seen both teams score.
Luton will be looking to bounce back from defeat in midweek as the Bedfordshire outfit went down 3-0 at Stoke. It was their seventh defeat in their last nine and leaves them just one place and three points above the bottom three.
Away from Kenilworth Road, the Hatters have lost six straight league matches and have failed to score in four of these. None of their next five away games are against teams who are in the current top 14 of the table.
Bookmakers make Preston strong favourites to win the game and while it is hard to argue with this the price does not inspire a bet. Instead, look to other markets and one bet that appeals is North-End to score in both halves as has happened in 73% of their Championship home games. Also of interest is the anytime scorer markets and a little play on either of Brad Potts and Alan Browne though it is the latter at a slightly bigger price who gets the nod here.
