Preston lost their second successive fixture as they went down at the weekend 1-0 at home to Sheffield United. The result leaves them in tenth place and five points behind Bristol City who are sixth. They can have few complaints about the result at the weekend as the Blades were great value for it.

At Deepdale, the Lilywhites are struggling having won just one of their last four in the Championship and two of nine. Just one of their last seven here has gone over 2.5 goals with four going under 1.5. Only two of the last six here have seen both teams net.

Leeds dropped out of the top two on Saturday as they suffered a 1-0 road loss at Birmingham which the expected goals data believes was harsh on them. The result sees them fall one point behind United and eight behind leaders Norwich. Three of the six remaining matches for the Yorkshire outfit come against top-half opponents.

Away from Elland Road, United have been a mixed bag of late with two victories, two defeats and a draw in their last five. None of their last four in the Championship on the road have seen both teams find the back of the net. Just one of the last five on their travels have gone over 2.5 goals.

We think Leeds are the more likelier winners of the match but the prices are far too short on a side who has won just three of their last eight on the road. Preston seem to be running out of steam at the wrong time and we could not be siding with them either.

The game could follow a similar pattern to the one North-End and Sheff U played at the weekend and be low on goals and a tight cagey affair. Under 2.5 goals seems a sensible bet while under 1.5 also looks worth a play.
