Leeds vs Preston Match Preview

Leeds will be looking to bounce back from a 2-1 loss at Fulham last time out which was a little unfortunate according to the expected goals data.  It is one defeat in 12 for the Yorkshire side in the Championship with victories in seven of their last nine.

At Elland Road, United were last in action on the 14th December and appeared to be coasting to all three points but three goals in the last 30 minutes resulted in a 3-3 draw with Cardiff.  Marcelo Bielsa and his side are unbeaten in eight at their own place winning six of these.

Preston can consider themselves a little unfortunate not to have got all three points last time out but had to settle for a goalless draw at Cardiff.  The Lancashire outfit have taken seven points from their last three and sit in the top six.

Away from Deepdale, the Lilywhites are now four without a victory though that draw did put to an end a run of three straight defeats.  It is now four successive road games without a goal for North-End and just one in their last six

Bookmakers make Leeds strong favourites to win this one but a defeat to Fulham and a poor last 30 minutes at home to Cardiff means the home fans might be a little nervy.  A stubborn Preston side are going to prove difficult to break down and as such backing a home win offers no appeal at the odds on offer.

A better bet is to take the game to go low on goals as United are looking a little nervy while North-End will make things difficult.  If the Yorkshire outfit do get the job it might be a return to their low scores of 1-0 and 2-0 that came earlier in the season so a small interest on under 1.5 goals also makes sense.
