Preston made it three victories from their last four with a comfortable 3-1 road success away at Millwall last weekend. It puts them just six points off the top six and they can cut that gap further if they win here.

At Deepdale, the Lilywhites are unbeaten in five in the Championship though four of these have ended in draws. Two of the last three played at this ground have finished goalless and just one of the last five has gone over 2.5 goals.

Bristol City have lost just two of their last 15 but it is the fact that they have lost these back-to-back which will trouble supporters. A 2-1 home loss to Birmingham in midweek means the chasing pack are closing in on the top six.

Away from Ashton Gate, the Robins have won five of their last seven and lost just one of these. In three of their last four on the road they have stopped the opposition from scoring a goal.

It is hard to argue with the prices on offer here with Preston in good form but drawing a few too many at their place to be backable. The Robins have lost back-to-back games and three if you look at the FA Cup.

A better bet is backing the game to be level at the break as happened in 20 of the last 33 for the visitors and ten of 16 when looking at road trips. The hosts have scored over 55% of their goals after the break while it is close to 70% for City so backing the second 45 minutes to be the highest scoring half also appeals.
