Portsmouth vs MK Dons Match Preview
Portsmouth have seen a 1-0 loss at Fleetwood Town on Saturday and they will now hope to bounce to the winning ways in front of the home fans once again, hosting MK Dons for their Matchday 29 clash on Tuesday evening and looking for their ninth home win in a row.
Pompey beat Ipswich (1-0), Wycombe (2-0), Wimbledon (2-1), Scunthorpe (2-1), Barnsley (4-2), Sunderland (2-0), Shrewsbury (2-0), and Exeter (3-2) since late December and while they have seen more troubles on the road along the way, we now expect them very confident once again.
MK Dons have connected a five-match unbeaten streak of their own and they used the more lenient schedule to escape the immediate danger zone, sitting 18th but holding a 13-point gap to 21st placed Tranmere. They will now want to build on it but should be in for more of a challenge.
Dons beat Rochdale (2-1), Wycombe (2-0) and Bolton (1-0 most recently) since late January, while holding Shrewsbury (1-1) and Lincoln (1-1) to draws along the way. They haven’t really been able to turn clashes their way when away from home, though, and this could be more worrying.
We don’t see them ending a 13-match winless streak on the road now either and we’ll rather back Portsmouth to secure the points, where going for a Home win at 3/5 with BetVictor feels like buying money for old rope here.
We have still seen MK Dons scoring goals more regularly and we do feel they’ll be motivated to build on the record. We’re now also going for a Yes on Both teams to score, which comes at 19/20 with bet365 and looks like a solid approach too.
