Portsmouth vs Ipswich Match Preview
Ipswich have struggled for points and bagged just three in their last four League One outings and they travel to Portsmouth for their Matchday with two consecutive losses behind them, where they saw Coventry (1-2) snatch at ticket to FA Cup 3rd Round and Bristol Rovers bag all three points at Portman Road.
Tractor Boys have found the net in all of their last five outings but still bagged just one win along the way, which will be worrying for Paul Lambert despite the status he still enjoys with the fans. They’ve been letting on goals and it proved costly, which will make a quick fix an absolute must at this point – with three sides breathing down their necks.
Portsmouth have, on the other hand, connected a great streak since late October and only seen a ten-match unbeaten streak ended as they fell victims in a thrashing 4-1 loss at Accrington. They have been conceding goals and struggled to keep it together at the back but were just all over the place on some occasions last week.
Pompey have been rock-solid up front and led by Ronan Curtis as they bagged two or more goals in all of the seven games ahead of the trip to Wham Stadium. They’ll now hope they can bounce quickly and keep up with the top 6, with a game in hand to both Blackpool and Rotherham in 5th and 6th, respectively.
We don’t feel they’ll be able to do so and we don’t see them snatching all three points, though, which has us going for a Draw at 5/2 with bet365 – seeing many in the know rate it more than just a lively longshot at this point.
We do expect both sides very motivated for the points and with their fine goalscoring streaks, despite troubles to turn clashes their way, we feel we’re in for another such occasion. We’re thus backing a Yes on Both teams to score at 4/5 with bet365.
