Porto vs Rangers Preview
Porto host Rangers for their Europa League clash on Thursday evening as all four sides in Group G have three points to their name after two outings, now hoping to capitalize on the home turf and make their way into the top 2 – sitting rock-bottomed but only for their goal difference.
Dragao bagged a narrow 2-1 win over Young Boys on the opening day of the campaign but went on to suffer a 2-0 loss at Feyenoord, which interrupted their winning streak of eight games. They’ve bounced with a convincing Cup win over Coimbroes (0-5) and such a confidence booster is just what they needed we feel.
Rangers have seen struggles for consistency of their own as they dropped all three points at Young Boys (2-1) despite taking the lead late in the first half. They struggled to bounce and while they’ve beaten Hamilton (5-0), more recent trip to Hearts (1-1) is more indicative of their recent troubles on the road.
Gers have struggled to keep it together at the back and this will be worrying for Steven Gerrard as his men dropped the top spot to Celtic once again. They’ve been led by Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos up front and kept scoring goals on the regular, which will still give them ground to build on.
We don’t feel they’ll be able to do so, though, and we will now rather back Porto to secure the all-important points at Estadio Do Dragao – going for a Home win at 1/2 with William Hill which has seen many big hitters lumping already.
We feel Rangers will have their say and Porto will have to outgun them to bag it, as we now also go for a Yes on Both teams to score at 10/11 with bet365. We have seen both scoring and conceding quite regularly lately and we now hope for more of the same.
