Liverpool have kept three consecutive clean sheets against Porto in the Champions League this season and last – and one more would take them into another semi-final with ease.
The Reds won 5-0 at the Estadio do Dragao in the first knockout round last term and nothing anywhere near as emphatic is needed this time following a 2-0 victory at Anfield six days before this return leg, thanks to goals from Naby Keita and Roberto Firmino.
The only concern for Jurgen Klopp’s side is that Porto have an excellent home record both domestically and in Europe this season, but there is no question that Liverpool will be the best visiting team to have rocked up at this stadium in 2018-19.
One slight concern for Klopp might be that his team have not kept a clean sheet in their last three away games, but in each of those they still had the firepower to come out on top.
They included the superb 3-1 triumph at Bayern Munich which again earmarked Liverpool as having the potential to emulate last season’s achievement of going all the way to the final.
A magnificent Premier League/Champions League double is still a possibility and Liverpool do not even need to win in Portugal to ensure they remain on course.
