Porto vs Krasnodar Match Preview
Porto have been in fine form through their pre-season and while a goalless draw in the first leg at Krasnodar would surely be a positive result, a very late winner from Sergio Oliveira made it a one-goal advantage they’re now looking to build on as they host the Russian rivals for the return of their Champions League Qualifiers clash on Tuesday.
Dragons have been very tough to beat and they’ve shown off just that, as they bagged five wins in six outings and only saw Monaco (0-1) interrupt their winning streak. They have seen some very narrow clashes along the way, which does promise another such occasion in the making.
Krasnodar have, on the other hand, connected a three-match unbeaten streak since mid-July and only saw it ended in the first leg. They’ve beaten Ufa (2-3) and Sochi (3-0) in two high-scoring clashes and shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw against Zenit more recently, which should have them very motivated to impress once again.
Bulls have known struggles for consistency on the road, though, and this will feel even more disappointing after a late winner they’ve conceded. They come into the match just days after hosting Rubin Kazan and now have a lot to prove in search of an upset in Portugal.
We don’t see them making it happen, though, and we’ll now rather back Porto to punch their ticket to the Play-offs with a Home win, which comes at 4/7 with William Hill and has been rated banker material by many in the know already.
We have seen some narrow clashes on both ends lately and with that in mind, we’re now hoping for another such occasion. We’ll thus back Under 2.5 Goals FT at Evens with Paddy Power and hope to see Porto making it just that.
