Porto vs Feyenoord Match Preview
Porto host Feyenoord for their Matchday 6 Europa League clash sitting 2nd in a thriller chase for the top two spots in Group G, looking to punch their ticket to the knockout stages with a confident display in front of the home fans – with both the Dutch rivals and Young Boys breathing down their necks.
Dragons have seen their five-match winning streak ended by Belenenses (1-1) on Sunday and now sit four points behind the Primeira Liga pace-setters Benfica, but we still expect them in good shape. They’ve been scoring numbers of goals on the regular and boast great records at this ground, which has the crowd hoping for more of the same.
Feyenoord beat the Portuguese rivals 2-0 in front of the home fans back in October and will obviously be no sitting ducks now either, sitting two points behind and hoping for an upset. They have struggled for pick-me-ups lately, though, and this could be more worrying for Dick Advocaat.
The Club on the Meuse have seen three draws in their last four outings, where they can only be happy with a 2-2 home draw against Rangers which kept them in the loop. They earned five points in three Eredivisie outings along the way and only sit 8th for it, with a huge 16-point gap to pace-setters Ajax.
They’ve been held off by Vitesse (0-0) over the weekend and we don’t see them bouncing with Europa League success at this point either. We’ll thus back Porto to secure the home points with confidence and keep a clean sheet in the process, going for a Home win to Nil at 6/5 with bet365.
Still, we don’t expect a very one-sided contest and we don’t see many goals between the sides. With that in mind, we’re now also going for a low-scoring contest with Under 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 11/10 with VirginBet.
