Portland Timbers vs Los Angeles FC Match Preview
Portland Timbers host Los Angeles FC for their first home clash this term after ending a two-match winless streak with an upset and a 1-3 win at Philadelphia Union, rediscovering fine form in the final third as Brian Fernandez netted a brace and Diego Valeri added one late on.
Timbers now hope to build on such a success and catch up with the top of the table, as they sit ten points behind the rivals but also have three games in hand at this point. We have seen them very confident at this ground through most part of the last season and we now hope to see them very motivated to impress again.
Los Angeles FC, on the other hand, come into the match on the back of an exciting 4-2 win over Montreal Impact but they have struggled for such impressive displays away from home lately – bagging just one win in their last four trips.
LAFC have kept scoring goals but managed only to beat Columbus Crew (0-3) since mid-April, where they also suffered a narrow 1-0 loss at Vancouver Whitecaps as well as draws at Seattle Sounders (1-1) and Dallas (1-1) along the way. They will now want more but we don’t see them making it happen at Providence Park.
We’ll thus back Portland Timbers to secure at least a point against the Western Conference pace-setters, going for an enticing Double Chance – Home win or Draw at 8/11 with bet365 as it feels the best way to go about the market at this point.
We have seen both sides scoring and conceding goals on the regular and with that in mind, going for a Yes on Both teams to score seems like buying money at 1/2 with William Hill as we head into another exciting MLS weekend in the making.
