Plymouth vs Bristol Rovers Match Preview
Plymouth host Bristol Rovers for the return match of their FA Cup clash after holding the rivals to a 1-1 draw at Memorial Stadium with a late penalty-kick equalizer from Antoni Sarcevic, which was one of his three goals in last five appearances. They now hope to capitalize on it and make their way to the 3rd Round in front of the home fans, promising another great challenge.
Pilgrims have struggled for great consistency on the road but have more to be happy about in front of the home crowd, where they bagged four wins in their last five outings and only saw Chelsea U21 interrupt the winning streak – with a 0-1 EFL Trophy loss back in late October.
Bristol Rovers have, on the other hand, been in fine form across competitions and while they’ve seen very narrow contests on most occasions along the way, Graham Coughlan’s men connected a ten-match across competitions since late October. They bagged seven wins and three draws, including three wins in last three outings.
Rovers beat Leyton Orient (on penalties after a 1-1 draw) in EFL Trophy and built on the success with League One wins over Southend (4-2) and Ipswich (1-2). They have been conceding goals on the regular but have been solid up front, which has seen them capitalizing on the regular lately.
However, we feel the visitors will have troubles at Home Park once again and we don’t see them turning this one their way easily. With that in mind, we’re sticking our necks out for another Draw on the day, which comes at 21/10 with bet365.
We feel we’re in for a narrow occasion with few goals, with obvious high stakes involved here. We’ve seen just five goals in their three head-to-head clashes since July and we’re now going for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 19/20 with William Hill again.
