Philadelphia Union vs Seattle Sounders Match Preview
Philadelphia Union host Seattle Sounders for their Sunday’s clash in great form and on the back of a three-match winning streak, as they sit just a point behind the Easter Conference pace-setters DC United and look to challenge them as soon as this weekend.
The U have beaten Cincinnati (2-0), New England (6-1), and Toronto (1-2) since early May and returned to a streak where they bagged seven wins in nine outings. They’ve been rock-solid at Talen Energy Stadium and kept scoring numbers of goals over the past two months, which will give them a lot to build on.
Seattle Sounders boast similar records and collected 25 points in 12 outings, which has them sitting just two points behind Western Conference table-toppers Los Angeles FC. They’ve beaten Houston Dynamo (1-0) and Orlando City (2-1) in two narrow outings over the past seven days, promising a great mood on the day as well.
Sounders have struggled against Philadelphia Union lately and will hope they can do more now, with a five-match unbeaten streak now behind them and just one loss seen this term. However, we don’t see them making it happen at Talen Energy Stadium now either.
We’ll thus stick with the U to secure all three points and go for a Home win here, which comes at 7/10 with bet365 and looks great value despite a tough challenge expected. The visitors will be able to compete for the points but we see Jim Curtin’s men outgunning them to the points.
We will thus also go for a high-scoring contest in Pennsylvania and we’ll go for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 6/10 with William Hill, which has been rated more of a banker bet by many in the know – as both sides regularly score and concede goals lately.
