Philadelphia Union vs Orlando City Match Preview
Philadelphia Union have snatched a thriller 1-3 win at Orlando City to end their three-match winless streak midway through the week and they now host the rivals hoping to build on the success over the weekend, looking to build on the gap behind them at the top of the Eastern Conference table.
The U have seen a 2-1 US Open Cup loss to DC United midway through June and they struggled to shake it off, with a point snatched at New England (1-1) and a 4-2 loss at New York City in two outings. It feels they’ve now put the unwanted streak behind them and Jim Curtin will have a lot to build on.
Orlando had come into the sides’ first clash this week in a better mood and on the back of a 0-2 win earned at Columbus Crew, as an early opener from Christopher Mueller felt like more of the same. However, Kacper Przybylko’s brace had them in a tough spot in front of the home fans and two red cards made it no easier.
Lions will now hope for more with no Jansson or Kljestan in the line-up but this could see their defensive consistency dented, which will feel even more worrying. They’ve been scoring a lot of goals on the road (eight on their last four trips) but it still feels outgunning the U here will be more of a task.
We will thus back Philadelphia Union to secure all three points once again and backing them to their second win over Orlando in just days feels like great value at 5/6 with Paddy Power, even with their somewhat unpredictable spell of form lately.
We should be in for goals, though, and they should have to outgun the visitors to secure the points once again – which has us going for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 1/2 with Novibet as more of a banker bet with both sides scoring and conceding numbers of goals lately.
