Peterborough vs Wycombe Match Preview
Wycombe ended a five-match winless streak and kept hold of a top 2 spot as they beat Rochdale (2-1), completing a comeback which only came with Joe Jacobson converting the 94’ penalty kick. They now travel to Peterborough hoping to build on the success and cause an upset at Weston Homes Stadium.
Indeed, Wanderers have struggled for a pick-me-up and will enjoy the weekend one, but they have a lot to prove if they’re to take from it. The thrashing 4-0 loss at Sunderland suffered beforehand came as their third away loss in a row and failing to find the net in any of the last four trips could be even more worrying for Gareth Ainsworth.
Peterborough will want to capitalize but they can hardly boast great team spirits of their own, as the attacking line led by Mohamed Eisa and Ivan Toney just fails to produce lately. They failed to score in clashes against Gillingham (0-0) and AFC Wimbledon (1-0) over the past two weeks and getting more now could prove a tough task.
Posh have been tougher to beat at this ground and will surely show it off, looking to catch up with the top 6 as the gap now stands at four points. They will want to base such a challenge on performances in front of the home fans and we expect them very motivated now as well.
We don’t feel it will be enough to bag all three points, though, and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for shared spoils in Peterborough. We’re going for a Draw priced at 13/5 with BetVictor, which does look like more than just a lively longshot at this point.
Both sides have struggled to score goals lately and with that in mind, we’re going for a low-scoring contest now as well. We’ll back Under 2.5 Goals FT at Evens with bet365, which looks like a generous pick seeing their recent goalscoring tally.
