Peterborough vs Dover Match Preview
Peterborough host Dover for their FA Cup clash on Sunday with a three-match winning streak behind them, hoping to build on the performances in front of the home fans and make their way to the 3rd Round past the National League rivals. They’ve struggled for positive results on the road but still show off as a tough side to contain at Weston Homes Stadium time and time again.
Posh have beaten Cambridge (2-1), Stevenage (2-0), and Burton Albion (1-0) in their last three outings and they’ve impressed at the back more recently, keeping clean sheets in the last two. Darren Ferguson has ground to build on and we’ll surely see his men very motivated to do so.
Dover have, on the other hand, seen their five-match unbeaten streak ended in a seven-goal thriller against Maidenhead (3-4), where a brace from Ruel Sotiriou and one from Paul Rooney proved nothing more than a consolation. They’ll now need more and we question if the visitors have what it takes.
Whites have been quite unpredictable on the road and failed to find the net twice in the last four trips (4-0 at Aldershot and 0-0 at Flyde), while beating Weymouth (1-2) and Yeovil (0-1) along the way. We feel this could prove costly and while they’ll search for an upset, we don’t see them making it happen.
We’ll thus back Petersborough to secure their ticket to the 3rd Round in front of the home crowd, going for a Home win to Nil at 5/4 with BetVictor – which seems like the best approach to the fixture at this point.
Indeed, we’ve seen them turning narrow clashes their way at this ground lately and we now hope for more of the same. With that in mind, we’re also going for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 13/10 with BetVictor and hoping for few goals on the day as well.
