Peru vs Brazil Match Preview
Brazil have been held to a goalless draw by Venezuela as they failed to convert their chances and were denied by VAR on three occasions, now meeting Peru for their Matchday 3 clash at Arena Corinthians with their top 2 spot theoretically still in danger – with 3rd placed Venezuela sitting two points behind.
Canarinho have been more convincing against Bolivia (3-0) beforehand as Philippe Coutinho led the in-form attacking line with a brace and Everton added one late in the game. Tite will now want a performance more reminiscent to the contest at Estadio Cícero Pompeu de Toledo and we expect them very motivated to perform.
Peru will be no easy nut to crack, though, and we expect them very motivated to hold out in search of points to secure a top 2 spot. They’ve been held off in a narrow contest against Venezuela (0-0) too and beat Bolivia only through a second-half comeback after falling behind.
Indeed, Marcelo Martins converted a 28’ penalty kick but Paolo Guerrero levelled it late in the first half, Jefferson Farfan took the lead ten minutes into the second, and Edison Flores made it comfortable in injury time. La Blanquirroja will now want more of the same and we do expect them just as confident in search of an upset.
We don’t see them ruining the party in Sao Paulo, though, and we feel backing Brazil to secure the points at 4/11 with Unibet comes as buying money for old rope – already seeing many big hitters lumping despite a goalless draw now behind them.
We do hope to see goals, though, and this should prove a more exciting contest. We should see both sides very motivated to impress and make their way through to the knock-out stages – which has us going for Over 2.5 Goals FT as possibly the best approach to the fixture at 17/20 with Unibet.
