Paris Saint-Germain vs Rennes Match Preview
PSG look set to be without Neymar for the foreseeable future as they aim to make it 11 straight home wins in Ligue 1 this season against Rennes.
The Brazilian superstar was accused of showboating as he brought out his full range of tricks in the Coupe de France match against Strasbourg on Wednesday, testing the patience of the frustrated opposition defence who duly ensured he left the pitch injured and in tears.
It was reported to be another foot problem similar to the one that affected Neymar’s preparation for last summer’s World Cup and doubts have emerged about his participation in the Champions League round-of-16 tie against Manchester United.
But even without him, the French champions should have more than enough to beat Rennes, even though the club from Brittany have a good record at the Parc des Princes over the last half-dozen years (see stats above).
Thomas Tuchel’s side have made it a perfect 10 on their own pitch in the league this term by a 37-3 aggregate and we expect this to be a routine three points on their way to retaining the title with the utmost ease.
