Paris Saint-Germain vs Manchester United Match Preview

PSG were comfortably too good for Manchester United in the first leg of this tie and now that the English club have even more players missing, it is unlikely to be any different here.

United have been transformed since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge in December, but the one match the Norwegian has lost in his 16 games at the helm was 2-0 at home to PSG when his side were frankly outclassed.

The Red Devils were hindered greatly by injuries just before half-time to Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial, but now five more of their players that night are unavailable – Paul Pogba due to suspension as he was sent off in the closing stages, plus injured quartet Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Alexis Sanchez.

This is a huge test for youngsters Scott McTominay, Diogo Dalot, Andreas Pereira and struggling summer signing Fred, most at least of whom will have to start this game, especially considering they only just beat Southampton at home on Saturday.

As for PSG, they are still without Neymar, while Edinson Cavani, who also missed the first leg, is likely to be on the bench at best.

Solskjaer is maintaining a 100% away record as United’s interim manager, eight wins out of eight, but appears almost certain to relinquish it as his makeshift line-up bows out of Europe.
