Paris Saint-Germain have played two games in Germany and now are in China to continue their pre-season preparations, facing arguably their toughest warm-up opposition in Macau.

France’s dominant team won 6-1 against Dynamo Dresden and drew 1-1 against Nurnberg, with Inter Milan, Sydney FC and, in the Trophee des Champions, Rennes lining up against them in their three matches on Chinese soil.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has taken a squad of 28 for the 13-day trip, who will be joined next Wednesday by five more that were on Africa Cup of Nations or Copa America duty this summer. Along with the likes of forgotten man Jese, Neymar is among the original 28 as speculation continues about whether he will rejoin his former club Barcelona this summer.

At the time of writing on Friday afternoon, news about Inter’s bid to sign Romelu Lukaku had gone quiet but it appears the Nerazzurri are crying out for a striker with Mauro Icardi having been ostracised by Conte in a similar way to how Diego Costa was at Chelsea.

Although Inter may just be better acclimatised and match fitter, PSG’s quality with the likes of Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani in attack is expected to break them down and secure a narrow success.
