New York Red Bulls vs Montreal Impact Match Preview
Montreal Impact travel to Red Bull Arena in a somewhat unpredictable spell of form after being denied any points in a 0-2 home loss to New York City over the weekend, where goals from Maxi Moralez and Ismael Tajouri proved enough for the visitors to snatch all three points.
Impact have been putting on tough defensive displays on the road but still struggled to retain consistency in results, seeing goalless draws at New York City and DC United, suffering a comfortable 3-0 loss at Philadelphia Union before the 0-3 win at New England.
New York Red Bulls will want to capitalize on such troubles on the visitors’ end, after beating Cincinnati (1-0) and LA Galaxy (3-2) in two very narrow contests over the past two weeks. They’ve thus regained great team spirits at home and will now want more of the same.
Red Bulls sit just outside the Eastern Conference top 7 with a point and a game in hand to the 7th placed Orlando and two points and two in hand to 6th placed Columbus. They will be looking to challenge for a spot here and it’s tough to see the visitors shut them down.
We’ll thus go for a Home win at 8/11 with William Hill, which seems like great value seeing they’ve been rock-solid at home ground lately and will want to base success on consistency with such performances here.
However, we expect a narrow contest and we don’t feel we’ll see many goals at Red Bull Arena, as we go for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 21/20 with Paddy Power. We’ve seen Impact very tough to score against and this does seem like a generous pick, as both sides enjoy such clashes on the regular.
