Nurnberg vs Hertha Berlin Match Preview
Hertha Berlin travel to rock-bottomed Nurnberg for their Matchday 18 clash on Sunday after picking it up with a 4-1 friendly win against Arminia Bielefeld over the break, finally ending the winless streak and now hoping to build on the performance at Max Morlock Stadion.
Die Alte Dame come into the match having dropped down the pecking order late in December, where they earned just one point in three outings. They’ve held Augsburg (2-2) to a draw but suffered losses at Stuttgart (2-1) and Leverkusen (3-1), which could threaten their confidence here as well.
However, it feels Nurnberg shouldn’t be the same sort of a challenge, having earned just one point in last six league outings and only ending the losing streak with a 1-1 draw against PEC Zwolle in an early-January friendly clash.
Der Club have been beaten by Bayern Munich (3-0), Wolfsburg (0-2), Borussia Monchengladbach (2-0) and Freiburg (0-1) beforehand and Michael Kollner will be desperate to finally find a cure for their woes in the final third. They have suffered losses in both of the sides’ two head-to-head clashes in almost five years, which will give the rivals something to build on.
We will back Hertha to do just that and going for an Away win at 13/10 with Unibet feels like great value despite getting used to narrow clashes between the sides. It feels Hertha are in a better place at this point and Nurnberg should have their hands full on the day.
However, we don’t expect a one-sided contest and with hope Hertha can turn this one their way by a slim margin, we’re now also sticking our necks out for Under 2.5 Goals FT at 5/6 with BetVictor – which would be the fifth consecutive such occasion on Nurnberg’s end.
