Nurnberg vs Bayern Munich Match Preview
Bayern Munich travel to struggling Nurnberg as Bundesliga pace-setters and on the back of a five-match winning streak, where they snatched the top spot with a thrashing 5-0 win over Dortmund and built on it with wins over Fortuna Dusseldorf (1-4) and Werder Bremen (1-0).
Bavarians have beaten Bremen (2-3) in a DFB Pokal thriller earlier this week too, where a late penalty kick converted by Robert Lewandowski saw them through to the Final and further pick up their high team spirits. They should now be very motivated to build on it and it feels Nurnberg will have a hard time coping.
Nurnberg come into the match after seeing a three-match unbeaten streak ended by Bayer Leverkusen (2-0) and sit three points behind 16th placed Stuttgart, as outright top-flight survival now looks miles away as Schalke sit nine points clear.
Der Club have been tougher to beat at this ground and they’ve only seen a narrow 0-1 loss to Leipzig (0-1) in early March, beating Augsburg (3-0) and holding Schalke to a 1-1 draw in two outings since. They will now want to show off against the reigning champions too, promising a solid challenge despite failing to climb the table.
We will still back Bayern to bag the points with confidence and we’ll now go for an Away win to Nil, which comes at 20/21 with bet365 and looks great value as the Bavarians’ fifth such win in head-to-head clashes in a row.
However, we don’t feel they’ll be able to score as many goals either and we hope to see Nurnberg composed at the back too. We’re thus going for a few goals on the day too, where Under 3.5 Goals FT looks the best approach at 6/5 with Paddy Power.
