Nottingham Forest host Wigan for their Matchday 29 clash looking for a return to the winning ways after three losses in a streak which saw them crash out of FA Cup in the hands of Chelsea (2-0) and drop six points in clashes against Reading (2-0) and Bristol (0-1).

Forest now sit seven points behind the Championship top 6 and will be desperate to finally end the unwanted streak here, despite their struggles to regularly score goals at the City Ground recently. Martin O’Neill will now look for a cure for such troubles and struggling Wigan seem like a good chance to make it happen.

Wigan come into the match with a 1-0 loss at Sheffield Wednesday now behind them, which emphasized their woes on the road once again – as they earned just two points in 12 league trips since August. They’ve failed to find the net at all in four of their last five away games, which could be even more worrying.

Latics have shocked Aston Villa (3-0) in a convincing home display beforehand but it’s now hard to see them bounce back on the road again, as Paul Cook’s men struggle to escape the immediate danger zone with a six-point gap to 22nd placed Reading at this point.

We will back Nottingham Forest to capitalize on such troubles and bag all three points on Saturday afternoon, where a Home win looks great value at 6/5 with Black Type despite their somewhat unpredictable spell of form recently.

We should be in for a narrow occasion, though, and we don’t see many goals on the day as we stick with Under 2.5 Goals FT at 8/11 with Betfred. We’ve seen such occasions in six of Wigan’s last seven trips as well as four of Forest’s respective last five overall, which feels like further evidence for such a bet.
