Nottingham Forest vs Bolton Match Preview
Nottingham Forest made it back-to-back victories with a 1-0 road success at QPR last time out as they end the season in decent form. The East Midlands outfit were one of the favourites for promotion but the campaign fell off under Aitor Karanka. Question marks are out over whether Martin O’Neill is the right man to take them forward but he will be backed by the board in the summer.
At the City Ground, the Tricky Trees have won six of the last eight with the defeats coming to Aston Villa and Blackburn. Each of their last five and seven of the last eight at their place have gone over 2.5 goals. Joe Lolley has three from his last five at this ground including a brace last time he was here.
Bolton have been relegated to League One and a miserable season went from bad to worse as they failed to even turn out for the meeting with Brentford. Financial issues and a lack of payment to the players was to blame though it has been confirmed they will play here. They have lost five straight and seven of their last eight.
Away from the University of Stadium, the Trotters have lost their last two and five of their last six. They are shipping goals on the road having conceded 16 times from their last five on their travels. In three of their last five away matches they have failed to score.
It is hard to see how Nottingham Forest will not win the fixture though the prices do not offer any angle of attack. Perhaps a better way to get value is by taking the home side to be ahead at half-time and then again at full-time.
Martin O’Neill experimented with a 3-5-2 at the weekend and Sam Byram excelled in his attacking wing-back role and he could be value here to net at any time given the holes in the Bolton defence especially given recent events.
