Nottingham Forest vs Birmingham Match Preview
Two of the bigger names in the Championship go head to head here, although in recent years it is fair to say that these giants haven’t really come anywhere near close to pushing for promotion. Again that looks as though it will be the case this season, although it is of course far too early to write anyone off.
Nottingham Forest will be disappointed they don’t have a win on the board just yet, although their start to the season has not been easy. A home defeat to West Brom was not the ideal start, although they did manage to gain a point at Leeds last weekend, which is more than most will take from Elland Road. However, they didn’t really play that well in the game, it was more a case of Leeds not taking their chances, and before we can talk about Forest in any kind of positive light, they have to start playing better.
Birmingham have looked fairly well so far this season, and a strong back line has been the main reason for their early success. They have played two games and are yet to suffer defeat after an opening day win at Brentford and a home draw against Bristol City. They have conceded just one goal in those two game and while ever they continue to be tight at the back like that, they are going to pick up points.
They are a huge price to go to Forest and bring back another win, and simply too big to ignore. We don’t think there is much to choose between these two, but at the prices we are siding with Birmingham, they offer good value here. We expect them to maintain their good defensive record, which should make for a tight, low scoring game.
