Norwich have seen a streak of two important wins ended in a narrow 1-0 loss at Sheffield United last week and they host Southampton looking to bounce to the winning ways in front of the home fans once again, desperate for points to escape the rock-bottom and close the six-point gap to 17th placed Watford.

Canaries beat Leicester (1-0) with a single goal from Jamal Lewis and got past Tottenham on penalties after a 1-1 FA Cup draw in London beforehand, which certainly served as a great boost to their confidence. They have shown off as a tough side to beat at Carrow Road on many occasions already and we expect them very motivated on the day as well.

Southampton have, on the other hand, seen a troubled run since early February and suffered five losses in their last six outings. They saw an FA Cup exit in the hands of Tottenham (3-2) and dropped 12 important Premier League points along the way, which gives reason to their worries despite a seven-point gap to the relegation zone.

Saints only interrupted the unwanted streak with a 2-0 home win over Aston Villa but saw more disappointing losses to West Ham (3-1) and Newcastle (0-1) since. They struggled defensively when away from home and Ralph Hasenhuttl will need to find a fix for such woes if they can cause an upset now.

We don’t see them snatching points at Carrow Road, though, and we’ll now rather stick with Norwich to secure all three. We’ll go for a Home win at an enticing 15/8 with William Hill, which feels like great value seeing the visitors’ form of recent.

We do expect goals and Canaries could be forced to outgun the rivals if they’re to do so. With that in mind, we’re now also hoping for a high-scoring contest in Norwich and we’ll back Over 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 8/11 with Paddy Power.
