Norwich vs Reading Match Preview
Norwich made it eight victories in a row with a comprehensive 4-0 defeat of QPR at the weekend. The result means they now sit seven points clear at the top of the Championship and eight points ahead of Leeds in third. The East Anglian outfit also have the best goal-difference of the top three sides.
At Carrow Road, the Canaries have won their last five matches and are unbeaten in their last seven. Marco Stiepermann has found the back of the net in the last two at this ground while Teemu Pukki has six in his last seven here. Three of the last five visitors here have failed to net.
Reading suffered a disappointing defeat at the weekend as they went down 3-1 to Hull and are still deep in the relegation mix. They sit 21st in the table and it is just a single point between them and the bottom three. Their next five fixtures are all against teams in the top 14 and four of them against teams in the top eight.
Away from the Madejski Stadium, the Royals have struggled this season winning on just two occasions one of which was at bottom side Ipswich. A lack of road goals is an issue for them and having netted just six in the last 13. In four of their last six matches on the road, they have restricted their opponents to one goal or lower.
The East Anglian outfit should win the game but the prices do not offer a way into siding with them so instead look to enhance the price. They came flying out of the blocks at the weekend netting two in the opening 20 minutes and I can imagine Daniel Farke will ask for more of the same here. Reading will not roll over but City are flying at the moment and we like them to be ahead at half-time and then again at full-time.
Marco Stiepermann is an under-rated part of this Norwich team as he puts in the work on the flank while also shouldering attacking responsibilities. He has two in his last two home starts and looks value to net at any time here.
