Norwich vs Aston Villa Match Preview
Norwich host Aston Villa for their Matchday 8 clash on Saturday afternoon with a troubled spell of form behind them, with five losses suffered in six outings and only a shock win over Man City (3-2) interrupting the unwanted streak. They now hope to bounce and have high hopes for points, having shown a lot more at Carrow Road.
Indeed, Canaries beat Newcastle (3-1) and only saw a thriller 2-3 loss to Chelsea here this term, scoring numbers of goals on the regular. Daniel Farke has a lot on his mind, though, with as many as ten players potentially sidelined – including confirmed Christoph Zimmermann, Onel Hernandez, Ralf Fahrmann, and Timm Klose as well as Mario Vrancic, Tom Trybull, Alex Tettey, Jamal Lewis and Ben Godfrey all under a question mark.
Aston Villa have finally found their form in the final third and we’ve seen them score six goals in the last three outings. However, they still found it hard to capitalize and struggles for consistency continued thanks to slip-ups at the back – where they saw a 3-2 loss at Arsenal, a 1-3 League Cup win at Brighton, and a 2-2 draw against Burnley most recently.
Villans have seen a tough schedule away from home but Dean Smith’s struggles to find a cure for their shortcomings at the back will still be just as worrying. They’ve collected just five points in seven games and escaping the relegation zone early in the new campaign will be an essential task.
We don’t see them doing so with points on the day, though, and we’ll now rather back Norwich to secure all three. Home win comes at 7/5 with William Hill and looks the best approach to the fixture despite Norwich’s struggles to perform on the road.
We do feel they’ll have to outgun the rivals to secure the points, which has us hoping for an exciting occasion and goals. We’re going for Over 2.5 Goals FT at 8/15 with , which looks like more of a banker bet at this point.
