Norwich City vs Crystal Palace Match Preview
Norwich have conceded two or more goals in nine of their 10 home matches this season and if they do so again, it is likely they will be beaten by Crystal Palace.
The Canaries need a dramatic improvement if they are to avoid an immediate return to the Championship and especially defensively, for their leakiness has left them bottom of the Premier League table and six points from safety.
Daniel Farke’s side have actually been raising their game for the tougher tests at home. In December they drew 2-2 with both Arsenal and Tottenham and they beat Manchester City earlier in the season, but it’s the more mundane encounters they seem to have trouble with.
No disrespect to Crystal Palace but this is one of those latter occasions – and therefore that should suit the Eagles, who can boast a very strong head-to-head record (see stats above).
The other advantage here for Palace is their solid defending which has enabled them to lose only one of their last seven matches despite a spate of injuries at the back. Even without a settled rearguard they have not conceded two goals in any of those games.
If Roy Hodgson’s side can maintain that consistency, they would look good value to win on this trip to Norfolk – and especially if Wilfried Zaha can advertise his talents on the day the January transfer window opens.
